Normal for an older copper coin that’s seen dirt and handling from circulation.

I’m with Mountain Man, another coin was laid on top of this quarter and a stain was created. Judging from the line I’d say it was another quarter.
I’m at a MS-62 on her. I’m seeing a few small bag marks and it seems to lack luster. Otherwise it’s very nice.

Simply put, they are both damaged. The 1937 has something put on it, like solder as mentioned by Mountain Man. The 1984 is showing signs of zinc...
