For the most part - they are worth the fun of finding & owning them ;)
Sometimes they do bring a premium in the mint wrapper. But if you bought them for a given price - that's about all you could expect to sell them for.

That depends on who's buying them Cloud. No dealer will ever pay spot price - best you'll get is 10% less. Same is true for .999 silver.
Just to be on the safe side I would recommend you take that coin to a dealer or knowledgeable collector you trust and let them look at it.
