The common dates would need to grade maybe EF to be worth any premium at all to a lot of dealers.

This was one of my first thoughts too. If they are a good mix, I recall Q David Bowers writing of drawing a grid ( a 10x10 grid of 2 inch...
It appears that there is better luster in the protected areas, so AU50ish is my guess. Grading from photos always is a guess, though. :)
The pictures sure look like an obvious problem coin to me.
