Yeah, I experimented with my iPhone camera and got the same results: QR codes but no bar codes. So I downloaded a code reader app like you suggested.

Ha! I grabbed some of my PCGS slabs, and by golly you're right. All these years and I never noticed they put the grade in that string of numbers....
