One of the reasons a lot of the modern Chinese fakes are so convincing is because they are made from silver in the correct weight.

I don't think it is so much that the sniffer is no longer used, but that it has evolved. The "sniffer" was previously part of the "Secure Plus"...
Just because it is illegal to ship silver out of China doesn't mean they don't do it. Any convincing fake is going to be made out of the correct...

I remember previous threads about this coin, but I honestly can't remember when, on which forum, or what they were about.
I have seen this one in hand. It is gorgeous, but not 67+ or $110k gorgeous.
