Thats split plate doubling, it's a form of die deterioration. [ATTACH]

I get you, often some of the earlier chinese fakes and even contemporary fakes had close weights. what most of them lacked was the right weight...
Verdi care would work on something like that. I would soak it in distilled water for a couple of days before I tried something stronger.

Some of it looks like a crack, then others look like corrosion. If you say it's a crack. Then!
I would look check it for the right rev. Then check the coin for other die markers. For example here is another crack from the Tiara to the field....
