If you want a couple of satin finish coins form this set it is not hype. Some people include the satin finish coins in their collections.
as of now the xf-au's are not bringing a premium but I still throw them in a bowl.

Isn't the 2001 worth a lot? If the dealers were waiting to put these in inventory and most ended up in collectors hands they could be worth a lot...

some of the recent bullion coins that were cut short may prove to be sleepers. Some of those mintages seem really low.

I'd say that the current trend is down. Metals are cyclical.
Sometimes a break in the luster differs from bag marks. Variations in luster should not count against a coin as much as bag marks and ticks.
