Thanks, Rusty! Your TD is a cool coin, really! I think I will re-image the trime, I believe I underexposed it. I don't have much copper....
Another danger of buying raw coins: PVC! here is an 1883 V-nickel I bought a couple of years ago. Somehow it wound up in the sdb in a soft flip!...
Another early purchase, an 1827 bust half. I bought it raw, it was bright white, I sent it in to the "old" ICG with a bunch of other stuff, and it...
Love the patina on that coin! scratches be darned, that's a nice bust dollar!
Hi Connor1, that's something I've never seen before-- AU53 DMPL! Are you a member of the CU forum (PCGS)? There are some serious Trade Dollar...
That's a very interesting piece, and something you sure don't see every day!
Welcome! I like your sense of humor, and look forward to your posts.
I agree that the trime is rather dark. I like coins with dark toning in the periphery, if the central devices stand out in contrast, but even that...
thanks for the comments, folks. Rusty, I'm going to have to buy some better "type" Barbers: my dime and quarter are both bright from dipping--...

Sorry, I rearranged some photos in my photobucket albums, and lost the links to the first post. Since I am now unable to edit that post, I will...
Basically, I have been working on a type set for a while, with digressions here and there. I'll post some of my type coins now and then, please...
Fridge magnets? I think that's a great idea! just scratch 'fake' or 'copy' on there somewhere in case somebody gets ahold of them later and has...
I thought a Fine grade appropriate, mainly because the cap is very worn, the lock of hair on the neck blends into the neck, and the drapery around...
I'm queasy about the look of the surfaces, and the rims. Checking weights and having a good look at the edge reeding is advisable.
For my photos, I just crop them with the free "Paintsho PRo" that came with the pc. then I save them in my coins file. Next I open my photobucket...
The Carson City dollars are in holders from the GSA, and as such they are quite collectible. Keep them in the holders with all the paperwork intact.
