The bust dollar is a copy of the BB51, off center bust. This is one of the most common Chinese forgeries. The morphology of the numbers and...
Thanks to kMANN's excellent camera work, you can see that the letters look sort of puffy, not squared off and flat on top. On the MM photo above...

I believe it is a fake. The edge reeding is very messy and not just from being banged around. The letters and arrowheads aren't right and the...
It's probably easier to ask "what would make you think it is genuine?" Seriously, everything is wrong, from the dentils to the details, mushy and...
One of the more bizarre ebay listings I have seen, from the "coin" to the seller's comments. Has to be seen to be believed....
To me, just my opinion, it looks like it was once darkly toned and then dipped more than lightly. Not sure what caused the spots, maybe areas of...
Looks like nice toning on that 77-P. Did you check to see if it's a DDO?

I stumbled onto this half in the Heritage archives, for no particular reason. It is graded PCGS 30, and in looking closely, to me it appears that...
Rusty, that is a beautiful half! My 39-O came from CRO, I spotted it at their table at Balto. about 4 yrs ago and whipped out the checkbook. I...
I really like the obverse of the reeded edge bust halves. Here are 3 from my collection, hope you enjoy them! [IMG] [IMG] [IMG] [IMG] [IMG]...
Looks like a Chinese fake to me too. Weird surfaces. They use hydraulic presses to stamp these things out like bottle caps.
To me, looks sort of mid VF. These are tough to grade. I expect that at 35-40 you should see some luster in the protected areas.
I like those a lot!
