I would not call any coin a good investment. But key dates are probably the best choice to make.
Is that the actual color of the coin?
My preference is PCGS. In my opinion PCGS has a little better accuracy of grading on Large Cents versus NGC. BUT either should be acceptable....
Call them and find out. Because even at 4% of the value that coin is worth conserving.

And for some coins ncs might fix it up and send it to NGC. I do not think so in this case, but you will get a details hold with a grade that...

Yes - PCGS will put in a genuine holder. NGC will put it in a details holder. I would probably send it to NCS.
