It could be, but even if there are no pits I would expect a rough surface under toning that dark.
As far as marks the coin is pretty clean. That's why it was graded 66. And as you can see there's been about 1500 of them graded as 66. But...

Based on the pics the 2nd coin at least looks to be MS, but that aint no 65 IMO. I'd call it a 63.
