If you read the whole thread, the coin was plated, not an error of any kind.
Clearly not a proof. Look at how rough the fields are particularly on the reverse. Let us know how it comes back.
Yes, you can even see the copper where the plating has worn away.

It is just damaged, the edge has been tapped or "spooned" as it is called.
