It's not black, merely dark grey. It's what I and many others would call gun-metal grey. That's what older silver coins are supposed to look like...
When I was buying coins here is what I would always do - first of all I'd check all of the dealers' that I normally used. If none of them had the...
Yup, you're absolutely right Thad. There's millions of dipped coins in slabs. But how many over-dipped coins do you know of that are in slabs ?...
The only point I am trying to prove is that Numismedia prices are not very accurate. Using a few of your examples - 1938 D/S Buffalo...
I think a lot of people have problems with the TPGs because they don't understand how the system works. They don't read the instructions carefully...
Well I specialized in world gold for quite a few years, so if I can be of any help - all ya have to do is ask ;)

What book you get has a lot to do with the age of the coins. Krause for example only goes back to 1600 I think it is. Whereas Friedberg goes back...
I didn't see anything because I never went to look. My point is this - you are quoting the pops for MS70 coins. But the pops for MS70 coins has...

Go check the pops on on the 2008 PF70 and see what ya get ? I expect you'll find a higher precentage for the Proofs than you did for the Uncs.
If there were, I never heard of them.
The only graders you will ever see at a show are NGC, PCGS, ANACS & ICG. Now that said you can still sometimes find coins graded by the other...
Yup, you're cursed ! If that coin's MS - I'm the King of Spain.
