68' is known for being well struck. A re engraved die? Or reworked? Either way not a bad coin for a circ find.

That for me is all about contrast and sharpness. I would use a tube or an extender. Lighting a coin has no certain standards. You are the author.

Interesting, I gave the heavy gouge on the jaw the benefit of doubt. That is a heavy mark. i thought the luster and originality made up for it....
