Just shows nothing is new. The 1883 V nickels were first made without the "cents" designation and then the dies were changed to add "cents"....
It says nickel in the thread name.

Cleaning a coin!!!! OMG!!! Looks like it will clean up good, I look forward to seeing it.
Scanned photos show good detail, but not how the coin looks. I would buy it if the price were right.
Interesting tidbit...the 1875-s is the most common 20 cent...what is the second most common...don't look it up.

The letters around the rim appear to be smooshed for lack of a better word, but this would be what is usually called PMD or Post Minting Damage....

The lack of reeding on the edge and the overall eroded appearance point to this being a coin that has been soaked in some kind of acid.
