They have made fakes of these for so long, there are some really good ones out there. The last modern fake that was any good was a Jefferson nickel.

You might start a type set. In the process you may find a coin type that draws you in.
Stuff changes over time. The S-3 used to be called an S-4. The old S-3 was delisted and Rick moved one of the coins called an S-4s in that slot....

Grading proofs has a lot to do with the amount of hairlines on the coin. It's easy to hide hairlines with images.
