I like these, even the clad. Not much to look at till you get to MS-64 and better.
I do this with most coins I send in. Great way to knock the dust off. I wish the TPGs would do it but I'm sure that would really slow things down.
They actually retain moisture in the walls as part of the fire protection. Air out the safe every few days and you will be fine for short term...

They made a bunch of labels and used them for any Ike they graded. Looks like they still have some left.

I agree that a new slab would not be worth the cost but I'm lost on taking a swim. I took it as giving the coin a dip.

Great post. Do you folks have many doubled die coins that are major enough that they are sought after?
It was cleaned with something harsh. Probably an acid of some type.
It would also be helpful to know how you cleaned the coins.
Possibly something that was done to the coin before you received it.
