I don't see anything that looks different from a normal cent. What exactly are you seeing?
Your coin was plated with another metal. How hard is that to understand? And no, it wouldn't necessarily melt the coin.

I have an order from my CU for 4 boxes of dimes a week but they also know that I like to look through any CWR they get in and they usually hold it...

I keep the pre-60's to the point that I have a tube of each date/mm. If I find a nice one in a roll I replace a lesser grade one with the new one.
Is it really worth keeping them though? I don't think the "investment" would be worth it in the long run.
Depends on how much you go through. I was doing $200 worth every week and about 20% were pre-82 coppers. Now I keep only the AU-MS coins that I pull.
Answer yourself this - Do you want a giant heap of coins that take up a ton of room and have really no value beyond face? Would you rather take...
