Not many clashed die coins have much value but they are fun to collect.

It looks like a normal corroded cent to me. I don't think there is a good way to clean the coin.
It's amazing how many medals the US mint has made over the past 200+ years. Some really cool works of art.

I like the circle crop with GIMP. It works really well. I use Paint Shop Pro for most other stuff.

You could add a second light. Once in place, play around with the angle and positions of the lights. It would also help to have the lens straight...
