My son loves finding gold plated halves.
When it has been gouged out it would. You can clearly see that in your pictures even though they are a bit grainy.

I like the 2nd one better than the 1st.
It's a normal business strike 1971S. There were 525,133,459 cents minted in San Fran that year.
I like it but I agree with @Mat. The hair doesn't seem to have the same wear as the rest of the coin which makes me think it was possibly tooled.
Oh man, that is awesome! I've never seen anything like it before. Thanks for sharing!
Really, whatever you want to get me is fine. I trust your judgement @Seattlite86 ;) I will look at a couple things when I get home.
You were too late for the other thread lol.

Found a 2009P DDR-015 Formative Years cent in last night's box. It's not much, but it's better than nothing....
Wow @Justin Lee the difference is amazing. It looks like 2 different coins! Great booty, I mean coin :)
Looks like a greaser.
Those look like fingerprints IMO. The "W" is just a partial grease filled die. Not worth anything more than face.
Actually, I think I found it over on varietyvista 2009 1c FY DDR-015, 15-R-VIII...
Yeah, it's a Philly. I went through the examples on coppercoins but didn't see it.
