I sure like the elongated coins.
To me it appears to have been cleaned with a mild acid. Now it looks grainy.
Never been so far off. I think the darkness of the coin hid images from my older eyes. Nice coin.

It’s called a worn die minted that coin.
Looks like a VF-20 I think.
It’s from rollers before the coin was minted. Not considered a mint error by most collectors but nice to find and add to a collection.
It’s a shame when that happens.
