    42 nickel no mint

    It is the copper-nickel composition. The metal composition was changed to the silver alloy part way through 1942.

    I got this recently at a local antique store. The coin is low grade, but I got it for only $7. This AG 1913-D Type 2 Buff could go for $60 easily....
