I'm not sure why keep both isn't an option but in this case I would take the second coin. It has better detail so is a better type rep. James
The second coin is both from New Orleans and appears to be the type 1 No Drapery version. i am a sucker for T-1 coins. james

I don't know varieties but Coast to Coast coins has an 1836 PR-55 for a measly $21,950. That one will do. James
You should look at the definition of detail on an actual coin to compare. James

I may be in the minority here but i remember grading in the 1990's or so and they were too strict often times. I think the coins grade is a 64....
