Actually silver oxide is a pretty good conductor.

Coin looks OK to me, the connection between the letters is a die crack, a fairly common error.
My guess would be Greek, Alexander the Great, a copper/bronze with a club reverse and an Alexander/lion skin with the usual Jupiter (?) reverse.
As far as ancient coins are concerned, I am a young numismatist and I'm 70.
