Heating the coins in my opinion is not the way to go.
It's a large date, no to an RPM, and the die cracks just mean that it was a stressed die. Many lincolns, have die cracks.
Take your time and cut it long wise. Same direction as the reeding.
Is it raised, on the coin? If so then a die crack. If it is ressesed then it is probably a scratch, NGC is pretty tough on nickels, I doubt that...
