Seems that the doubling runs the full perimeter of incused lettering. I would call it die deterioration doubling.
What you are seeing is a well placed die chip. It is a common occurrence more so on the S, but can be found also on D and P mm.
The pastels are interesting, good instincts as to get it graded.

The 57D looks just fine, I am wondering about the line going thru the obverse. Is that toning? A scratch? The 2002 looks close to within...
