I had to go back and look at the 11 x 14 auction. It sold for $7100. There were many sizes of these types of Lincoln plaques and many fakes....
The plaque I just posted is about 8 x 10, marble and all. I actually own it. This one is about 11 x 14 and I know little about it. My high bid was...
These were made at different times. The Lincoln was a Brenner Copyright of 1915 and has the Gorham Co Founders mark. The Washington is by Brenner...
The mate to this is actually stamped on the bottom edge "FINE SILVER". The ANA published something about there also being gold filled ones as...
Really cool. Each of these are 33'' square. That makes it 5.5 feet wide on the wall. I also believe there is only one set of these.
Larry, could you tell us the size of each of these in your op? There were different sizes made. Do they say Medallic Art Co on the bottom edge?
Hi Larry, Is the bronze a larger plaque? I have more to add but this will help me be correct in what I post.
it's just wrong There is no way this coin was in the ground for almost 200 years. Something is wrong with this.
Are they worth going to NCS. Maybe I should try doing something with them myself;) Put them away as they are. What would you do? [IMG]...
I actually think NGC got it right. These are tough to grade from images and being dark makes it even tougher. At least it's not dipped to death.
I would grade it Fine. If it came from your mom it's worth much more than melt.:)
I was actually the manager of a camera shop when the AE1 came out. Minolta came out with the XE7 and it was a battle. You made the right choice...
I still have an AE1. It was a work horse. Do you remember the XE7?
The AE1 is a great old camera. Can you lock the mirror on it? I can't remember. If not, it could mess with macro imaging. Someone might have...
I would suggest getting a DSLR with a nice lens that has macro. Probably a bit more that $400 but it's worth it.
I ordered one of each and really like the design. It's a little different. Most everything Lincoln is a profile shot.
It would be really cool having a job with that many coins coming by me every day. A good friend of mine is a teller but she buys up star notes....
I would at least have to date this lady. [IMG]
Really nice Paul. They are tough to catch. It only took me about 20 images to get there.
Now that's a cool image. Always wondered how this worked. If the band came loose on a roll that large I would be running.:)
