From the image, I'm at AU-50.
I did a recount. We didn't win. I did buy some absolute tonight so my count may be off a bit.

You should pass on this coin. I don't feel you will be happy with it long term.
I'm thinking AU-50.
I started saving 1938's and 1939's about 40 years back. Probably have 4 or 5 pint jars full.
I love the rich brown color. Wish I had a few coin with that look.
Now that's really cool. Good luck to you.
Wish I could do overlays as well as Rick.
I'll guess 63 on the first and 64 on the second. Both cleaned at some point. The first would probably grade but not sure the second would.
Folks have been saying it's out of control for many years. Yet, we keep paying the price for cool looking color.
Check Rick Snow's site for the overlays. http://indiancent.wikispaces.com/1857
I'm shocked at the math on this. The figures make it possible for a steel cent and a copper cent to be within .0064 grams apart. Never thought it...
That's the answer. The center band is broken.
This puts us back on track. [IMG] [IMG]
What is it about the reverse that looks fishy? How large is the image you are seeing. Please right click it and give us the dimension it shows.
Please try this. Right click on the image you see in this thread. What is it showing you as the dimension? Mine shows 399X. That is the coin...
Every time this coin comes up, it trashes someones thread. That's just wrong. If redwin will not stop posting it, we must stop bringing it back...
The second one looks to be plated bronze or brass. Is there an image of the other side?
They were made in large numbers using the same number. This let folks track a machine, a worker or a vendor. Fun stuff.
Separate names with a comma.
