Should not have said anything.
I would do nothing to this coin. The Op has it in hand and can figure it out if we can find a link to a good image.
Adjustment strike was my first thought as well.
I'm almost sure it's the D/S based on the image in the CPG. Please don't take a toothbrush to it.
This one sold on Ebay the last few days for $2650. It's one of the larger sizes. [IMG]
Nothing special. Feel free to post what you have. [IMG] [IMG]
I would give it a few baths in acetone and a fresh holder and let it be.
I was wrong. The real 66 is covered with corrosion. The 65 is a well worn coin with images shot at an angle and out of focus. You will get better...
I don't see anything wrong with what they are doing. They are being sold for what they are. These sets have been around for as long as many here...
I would call it a die chip.
Looks like a really low grade 1866 to me. I'm sure you can post a better image.
This ones for Rey Brown. He would have had a great time with this thread. [IMG] [IMG]
Really cool find Matt. Is there a way to match the obverse to the correct reverse? You could post a few at a time and let the members help search...

FE - 63 SQ - 45 Morgan - 58 Peace - 60 Lg cent - no grade
I think you got a great deal. Nice group of coins.
Nice images.
Buying copper from images has it's risk. You just never know what it's really going to look like in hand.
