Thanks, I originally thought it might be a snuff type coin. "Two pieces" thats why I weighed it. But it's too heavy to be hollow in the middle....
Have you weighed it?
I have been going thru some old coins and had never noticed it before. And wouldn't have if I didn't find another 52. It seems the reverse looks a...
It's always a debacle around here surrounding these cents. Some say roller lines, some say improperly annealed/alloy.
Better hide it good cause someone's going to be pissed.
It weighs light, 10.3 (not sure about weight tolerance) I was thinking maybe it was encased? [ATTACH] [ATTACH] [ATTACH] [ATTACH]
There is the same type of doubling on the MM as there is on the Date. This doesn't happen as the MM are punched into the working die. Also the...
That depends on what the reverse looks like. It is probably just a mis aligned obverse die.
Yes this is a doubled die, just not the valuable kind. This Master die made many a working hub with the same doubling.
I agree with DDD. The 95D DDO is hard to come by. The motto should be pretty convicing if you find one. It's not a bad looking cent though.
Link? I want to see some 5 dollar gold.
You do any fishing? I tie up the heaviest rock I can find, If I need one.
So, how many buckets of these coins do you have @numist Maybe some art? They are doing floors now with us cents. Glue and cover the floor in epoxy.
It was made by this guy. [ATTACH]
Definitely looks like an old dip that didn't fully remove the heavy toning. Nice coin Miguy.
Here is a match to your obverse die clash. I would imagine that the reverse has to be there also. http://www.maddieclashes.com/adc-25c-1982-01/
Are you sure there isn't evidence of the clash on the reverse?
The 83D is probably your best chance of getting a 65. I still think that the reverse holds it back. The real price bump happens at 66 to 67. The...
Here is one I found at a yard sale or thrift store. I started cutting felt to put into the holes and was gonna cover it with glass. As it is the...
Looks good to me. MM position looks correct. The clash in front of the eye, missing tail feathers and definitely a long nock.
