I like option 1 the best. I'm sure the cc is more valuable but, I don't care for the look.
Not sure I trust the images so I would have gone for the 82.
At that price you did great. What type of album were the coins stored in?
I don't know how someone could say that without actually seeing the coin. A small difference in quality can change the value. Just a thought.
I'll go AU or 63RB. Tough to say from the images.
It's easy to see why some collect medals. Really cool stuff.
That sounds fun. Can I join in?
I'll go with 66RB. Nice coin.
I lost track of all the different types they have made the last several years. Some are the same coin but came in a different package. Not sure...
Nice medal. Mines not as nice. Medals are wild. Post any US medal or any coin dated 1939. [IMG] [IMG]
I would worry that the polyurethane would also put off gases. I don't feel there is anything that's 100% safe.
Tilting the coin is not helping the images. Try it flat to the lens and play with the lighting.

Looks like a real cent to me. Can't tell about the mintmark.
From the image. EF-40 maybe 45, cleaned.
Now this is what the hobby is all about, having fun.
I like the OP coin. The obverse is average but the reverse is really nice.
It's not hard to have fun on most any coin forum. Always something to learn.
I could see that in a 66 holder but I'm going with 65.
I understand you don't wish to go there but if it's local, I would still check it out from time to time. The guy sounds like he is being honest...
