You never know with cent rolls even with proper storage. When you open the roll, anything is possible.
If they have rust, you can't help them or hurt them. They are only worth a few cents at best.

In 1995 I bought the gold set with the silver eagle. Could have sold it years ago and made a nice profit. Still worth a nice sum.
Wish my dad had been a collector but he gave me a few coins he found over the years. It's cool that you and your dad can spend time with the hobby.
