I'll say large date as well but the upper loop of the 9 makes it look like a small date. Interesting coin.
Years ago when these were really hot, you could buy new fake envelopes. Folks would check for the AH or for Cams and seal them back and sell them....

Some sellers will do that. Some will also say they shipped an item and it got lost. A refund gets them out of the deal and there is no way to know...

Nice cent but you need a coin dated 1943 or a Walker to follow the lead.
I think you made a good choice. I try to back away from anything I question. There are too many problem free coins out there.

Mercury will turn cents a silver color. I did this as a kid. Today we know that playing with mercury is a really bad idea.
I guessed 40 by 45 sounds good.
