For modern US or foreign coins, I use airtite. For ancient coins, I use 2x2 flips, since ancients come with all different sizes and thickness....
From your closeup photo, the mark does look incuse and cuts into coin. I guess the TPG overlooked that, and didn't mention it on the label... :(
