We are all learning. Many years ago, I bought a Flying Eagle Cent thinking the date was repunched. It was just the mylar. Fun lesson.

I don't think everyone will ever agree on what a variety is. The CPG dumps everything into the same term, even die clashes.
I'll guess the coin rotated in the holder and the second date is just an impression in the mylar. An image out of the holder would help.
