yes, they are common, but fun to find. The metal, nickel composition, is very hard and tough on the dies.
that COULD be a simple die damage or part of a clashed die. Look at your other nickel die crack, thinner and irregular.
baked refers to putting the coin in an oven at high temperature to atrificially tone the coin. It does look like AT (artificial toning) but...

look at the edge, do you see any copper? compare to a quarter's edge.
take it out of the holder, the marks look pretty bad, but they may be on the holder.
