I use that silver dip from Walmart. Just a few seconds and a rinse is all it takes.
With so many kids, grandkids and great grandkids I have always put back extras for them if they decide to collect.

Very true, but, for the time they have been in the ground wouldn't Plate Tectonics have shifted them considerably?
Finding these and many early 40's, including silver nickels, usually indicates an economic situation that has people dumping their piggy banks....

I found another silver nickel this weekend. That makes 6 in the last 2 months. [ATTACH] [ATTACH]
I reuse flips. Gently remove enough staples to slide the coin out, photo the coin, slide it back and staple.
I found this in a roll. It looks like someone tried to make an S Mint 1957 Jefferson. [ATTACH]
