Nice coin and the condition is excellent. Congrats!
I don't like this at all. But what about Roman coins struck in the second century to the fifth century before the Byzantine period?
Really neat, I didn't know there were any Roman period tets with mummies on them. That would be a cool one to find, must be a rare type.
Very nice coin @randygeki !
Very cool coin, thanks for sharing! Also, welcome to the forum!
Nice upgrade on the Gordie Sestertius, excellent detail.
I don't clean my silver/billon coins and I've had middling results on bronze. On the bronze I've used distilled water/olive oil and a dental pick....
Does look to be the same dies IMHO...
I tried it on Justinian and on Anastasius, clicked the AE box, and nothing showed up except a message saying "coin not found" - not sure how it works.
Nice coins all, I have neither a British or French silver coin. Closest I ever came was a denier of Bohemund II of Tripolis - a Crusader coin.

Very nice coin and in my opinion a minor quibble. I'd pull the trigger.
Does that mean there were just a few dies in existence for Aemilian? Presumably as more coins were struck the "new" dies wore out but he just kept...
That portrait looks unique and different from Gallus. I guess within three months the mints knew what he looked like.
Great coins @Mat and that Valerian was a steal. I agree that the portraiture begins to degrade right after Valerian's demise, happening in the...
None in my collection (yet). Here's a Trebonianus Gallus, though. [ATTACH] [ATTACH]
Uncleaned hoard Jovian. You can just make out VOT V on the reverse. [ATTACH] [ATTACH]
Fantastic write-up. Thank you!
Apparently it is RIC 100, MVNIFICENTIA on the reverse. Not sure what it is celebrating, though.
Pretty cool! Maybe an unlisted type or a barbarous copy. The dude on the reverse is going to get it right in the thigh.
