Looks like a Byzantine follis to me. I can almost make out two figures on the obverse. Could be Heraclius(?)
My question on the op coin is whether the silvering is actually silver or antimony?

Seems about right for one of these coins. The big Ptolemy bronzes are rarely budget pieces at retail. You might have better luck in an auction.
