The first few years of the Indian Head Cent, they were made with Copper-Nickel. They weigh more and had a different color.

It's always a guess how PCGS will grade a dark coin. I'll go with VG something. Never bought a 16-D. Just too darn much money.
Cleaned copper can retone into some wild looking colors. It would be interesting to see the reverse of those coins.
