It's fake. Lots of those going around.
That is the rare twisted image variety. With a bit of practice, it would look like a normal damaged cent.
Take note of how each letter is really thin at the top. With a true doubled die, the letter would be normal with a second raised part to the letter.

Private mints made gold 50 cent pieces in the 1850s but I don't think they were solid gold. I'm thinking the posted coin is just a souvenir.

I believe it's fake as well. They did a nice job with the toning and making it look like an old circulated coin.
