I'll go with just damage. A scratch will leave raised edges along the edges.
I think that PCGS would call it 64 FBL. The reverse looks great but I'm not sure what I think of the obverse toning.
Please post the images.
I would send the ones you think are CAM or DCAM to PCGS. All you need is for one to come back as DCAM to cover all your cost. Great find.
I like it in the old holder and agree with going for the CAC gold.
I love silver eagles but had to quit collecting them a few years back. One of the best designs the mint ever came out with.
I went with 63. Pretty coin.
That's a shame. Did you notice that he never attacked you, he just gave his opinion on the topic. Hope you find the time to go back and read what...
Please take the time to read what John has said. I believe you are taking it wrong.
Some folks collect the FirstStrike slabs to have a matching look to the set. I would not pay extra for the slab but some will.
I looked over the Cuds-on-coins site. It took me an hour to quit reading. Great resource.
I hope I'm wrong but I don't think they will slab it, even as details.
The new ones are being made again. $27 on ebay.
It has that look. If true, someone did a lot of work on it. It's worth $40.
I bought this one just because of the color. I knew it had been messed with but thought it was pretty. The crazy rims made it even more fun....
Old nickels just seem to tone. Many years in an album bring yellow and a bit of green. The silver war nickels turn dark a bit faster.
Looks like a match to the 1950-02.
Good to know. Thanks.
Wizard has the album for $19. https://www.wizardcoinsupply.com/product/whitman-album-20th-century-types.html JPScorner is at $18....
I don't think that's a cud. Looks like just a small die crack.
