Actually the mint mark was punched into the working die as opposed to the master die.
No the spread of the date on the counterfeit does not match the spread for 1911 or 1914.
I'll admit when I first glanced at the OP's coin in this thread - the damage on the "9" of the date caused me to do a double take and think back...
