Nice coins and strong grades!
The obverse is more than likely a defect in the planchet.
Doubt it but I have one and they are not getting it!!
Nice looking set. It shows what worn dies can do to a coin. The reverse on the quarter looks like a strike through to me. Probably a piece of wire. :)
May he Rest In Peace!
Can you post photos?
The Red Book puts out a book on Morgan Dollars. It was written by David Bowers. As for a loupe, anything over a 10x is considered a waste.
And the coin is new and damaged. Did you notice his screen name? It’s a hoot!!
I do not think it would be worth the expense to do so.
The thing to remember is the prices in the Red Book are a guide, not the set value. I think the dealer got what he felt was a good price for it...
Someone grossly overpaid for that coin.
Some nice finds but the reason you aren’t finding much is because you and your detective friends have cleaned those parks out. Some of your past...
I do I not believe they are true grading companies. If the grading company is reputable then the coins themselves are definitely over graded.
Very nice. That’s super nice coin.
Just grease on the die.
There is something strange happening in mailing that.
See the neat stuff you can find buried in your safes! Nice looking and I didn’t need a magnifying glass to see the horizontal S.
A fantastic find!
The Cold War was still going on in the fifties.
Thank you for all the help.
