Nice looking medal from the KKK.
A private Mint had done some. I only want the US version, which I ordered, as it was the US that went there.
I see what you mean in the first photo but it's too blurry. It gets worse when I enlarge it.
John Wilks Booth
Plastic does have that affect.
It would be great if it just had that champagne toning.
MD here as well.
Not from the Mint. It occurred afterwards. The one close to the rim is cut into the coin do it's not raised.
This coin looks like the Die was about to shatter. Die cracks form in different areas until they meet. With continued use the Die finally shatters.
I'm only joking. The eye on the coin is damaged from taking a hit.
I like it but then I don't like it.
And yes, it is plated. It's a zinc coin with a very thin layer of copper over the zinc.
A clear case of plating blisters.
Are you aware that Abe was shot twice at the Ford Theater? The first bullet missedand grazed his eye. The second one killed him.
I agree, it does look mixed.
That is one damaged coin. It's a shame what some people do to coins, either for their own amusement or to try and create an error to fool the less...
F-12 but it's a details/damaged coin.
Not even close to the famous 1916 DDO. The top of the number has an indentation on them from taking a hit. Look st the example in your Red Book...
Looks like a clear case of MD.
Now now. It takes time to learn and find certain coins in circulation. Be patient and you'll have a good find one day.
