I have an 1877 S trade dollar that I carry off and on. It had been lightly polished so hoping to improve it. I've probably taken it from XF to VF...
My first one was a VG with rim nick. After a while it didn't look too good to me. You're on track, look around and get a nice one that you like....

The obverse is scuffy, but I don't see enough high point wear to prohibit a low MS grade. Now if those are rub / scuffs in the left obverse field...

I like the 64PL idea, if they didn't give it a PL designation surely it got bumped to 65 due to the contrast.
