AU50
High VF, I'd say. I like Morgan's like that too.
Yes. As long as the coin is uncirculated or high AU, and the luster is intact. Now, a coin can be damaged by overdipping or repeated dippings...
Either 45 or 50, depending on the luster remaining.
Can't rule out an old light cleaning, especially on the obverse, but it looks nice to me. I'll go with VF20.
Then it's worth whatever effort and expense it takes to get it certified by NGC or PCGS. Please submit it and post the results here.
Can't judge the luster, so hard to say. But enough marks/scratches to guess AU-ish. So $20-ish a piece.
Reverse looks AT, IMHO
Guessing VF20. As stated, the obverse looks weaker than the reverse. Now to check myself....
VF25
I would sure expect to see a star. Actually though, the random untoned areas on the cheek keep the coin from being what it could be, IMO.
Easy MS66. In fact, I think I'll go with MS66+.
Neat, didn't know that!
Attractive. I'll guess MS65. I probably know less about quarters than you do though.
Nice contrast. Pretty easy to attribute, pointed top 6, no stem through eagle's claw so... O-109.
10 year old thread. But thanks for bringing it out of the depths, it was an interesting bedtime read. :)
Missed this thread, but gorgeous toning on that Morgan
We are just being forthright and honest about your coin. The luster has been damaged. Just appreciate it as a somewhat attractive item passed down...
See the "halo" around the head, the letters, the stars? That's a giveaway that it was cleaned/polished.
64, if it wasn't overdipped. Surfaces look a bit off. Is it slabbed?
