My dad has a few totally blank planchets for Kennedy halves.(not silver) Any idea on value of these?

I would say a vice, or someone layed them on the floor and used a hammer, cracked them together, probably damaged the quarter if it was on top.
Is "first day of mintage" the same as "first strikes?" Don't they mean the same thing? Confusing.... How many do they consider "first struck?" And...
