[ATTACH] [ATTACH] [ATTACH] I only got 2 worth mentioning
Honestly I'd love an 1877 proof trade one of my long term goals is all the collectible trades in proof (only got one so far) and even more I'd...
To me it has no proof like characteristics no patina or toning blast white color without cartwheel luster it looks to me like brand new silver it...
That'd be awesome if it was real and it can easily happen a friend that sometimes works for me on early houses a few years ago found a oak tree...
If by any chance it's real which I've spoken my opinion on it is an over cleaned polished whizzed or otherwise damaged coin that wouldn't grade is...
[ATTACH] [ATTACH] Here's another real one lower grade the hair detail on the fake is totally wrong add that to its starting to rust!!
About 5 cents in scrap metal would be my opinion of what it's worth about the same as an empty beer can
I'd have done the same thing sometimes the hard desicion is the right decision is better to offend one for the protection of all
Thing would've been lucky to make xf-40 even if it was real
Absolutely none if the lack of detail wasn't enough! May it rust in peace!!!
Now could you find the cornerstone and get me the half dime dollar and $3 gold out of it ;) I'd trade you my whole collection for any of the three
I've studied trade dollars as one of my foremost interests I collect the series and I don't believe this coin for a second my initial thought from...
Well let's put it this way many un proof like characteristics doubtful color and surfaces a rare date of the most commonly faked coin out there...
That is a positively rotten strike for an 87 too they made 20 million bad strike plus bad surfaces I'd walk away not like its a hard date to find
And that's a quality coin good strike good color and one scrape on the cheek away from a 65
Bowie knife probably a fake too the early ones faked as often as trade dollars
Unpolished fields AND a weak strike (for a proof) all adds up to.... Made in china!! I posted a real proof trade for comparison mine pf-61 pcgs...
Kinda grainy surfaces too like its been over dipped
Tha cheek looks good but there's that huge whack on the foe head and hair probably why the 62 I'd have given it no more than a 63 cause of that
Nice report maybe I'll be next I'm hoping to go to a coin show up in New England soon may have company of a fellow ct member or 2 as well
