Definitely genuine but the surfaces do appear to be suffering. I do think it's been cleaned and maybe that's why it looks the way it does.

Not a Mint error. It is PMD as it was done after it left the Mint. It's called a counter punch. Reread what Fred and Paddy said.
It all looks normal to me. It's shows wear and lots of bag marks. The coloring is not rust, just slight toning.
